University of Memphis at Saint Louis University 27 February 2000

Saint Louis University (11-16, 4-12) lost another C-USA match this time against visiting University of Memphis (17-10, 11-5) in the Bauman-Eberhardt Athletic Center (1,097 paid attendance). The Billikens trailed at the half (39-40) and gave up a 13-4 run only to battle back with a 15-0 scoring drive to lead 54-53 with ~11 minutes left in the game. Poor ball handling plagued the Billikens all game and resulted in the final 66-73 home loss.

The Billikens have some good freshman talent to look forward to next year; each player received much valuable experience during the season. Although the Billikens graduate seniors Mandy Lueking (12) and Kara Wile (10), the younger players appear capable to fill the void left by these two with the added bonus of having scoring production at every position.

Memphis' Shannon Hamp (54) came off the bench to score 11 points and make 3 steals.

Memphis junior forward Tiffany Adkins (21) scored 16 points and collected 6 rebounds in the road victory. Billiken freshman LaKia Jones (30) defends while scoring 6 points and collecting 3 steals.

Lady Tiger sophomore forward Melissa Abrahams (41) scored 10 points and collected 8 rebounds.

Billikne junior center Bridget Beckmann (52) contributed 11 points and 11 rebounds in 39 minutes of action.

SLU freshman Harmonie King (22) signals good news for next year by scoring 16 points and handing out 5 assists.

SLU senior guard Mandy Lueking (12) ended her career with 16 points (13 in the first half).
