SIUC (18-11, 12-6) dropped its second game in-a-row, this time against visiting Southwest Missouri State University (20-9, 13-5) before a season-ended turnout of 6,038 fans in the SIU arena. SIU was led by freshman guard Kent Williams (33) with 15 points and Chris Thunell (32) and Derrick Tilmon (42) with 14 points each. SMSU was led by Kevin Ault (24), Scott Brakebill (20), and William Fontleroy (12) with 14, 12, and 10 points, respectively. The 59-62 home loss leaves the Salukis in 3rd place in the MVC.


SIU's freshman guard Kent Williams (33) kept the pressure on SMSU with both inside and outside shooting. Williams led all scorers with 15 points to go along with his 6 rebounds and 2 assists in 40 minutes of play.


Bear senior guard William Fontleroy (12) seems to float in mid-air after making an assist. Fontleroy finished with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists.

Bear senior guard Kevin Ault (24) led the team with 14 points and 5 steals.

SMSU sophomore center Scott Brakebill (20) contributed 12 points, 4 rebounds and 4 key blocks in the hard fought victory.

SIU senior forward Chris Thunell (32) finished with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists in the last home game of his career.


Saluki senior center Derrick Tilmon (42) ended his regular season career with this jam, giving Tilmon 14 points along with 6 rebounds and 2 assists for the game.
