Depaul University at Saint Louis University 16 January 2000
Saint Louis University (8-8) finished the weekend hosting C-USA opponent DePaul University (10-6) in front of ~100 fans in the Bauman-Eberhardt Athletic Center. The Billikens again found themselves behind early in the game, trailing 15-28 at halftime. The Blue Demons used their height advantage to score over the smaller Billiken lineup. Lenae Williams (23) and Candis Blankson (34) led DePaul with 18 and 14 points, respectively. SLU was led by Christan Shelton (14) with 9 points.


DePaul junior forward Candis Blankson (34) scores over SLU junior center Bridget Beckmann (52). Blankson finished the game with 14 points and 3 assists. Beckmann contributed 8 points and 7 rebounds.


Blue Demon sophomore sensation Lenae Williams (23) led all scorers with 18 points and contributed 5 rebounds. Defending on the play are SLU junior Katie Battern (44) and freshman Harmonie King (22).

Billiken freshman Amie Van Deurzen (34) contributed 5 points and 2 rebounds in 13 minute of play. Coach Jill Pizzotti has gone to the young bench to provide needed game experience.

Billiken freshman forward Christan Shelton (14) led the team with 9 points and added 6 rebounds.

SLU senior guard Mandy Lueking (12) finished with just 6 points on a cold 1 for 14 shooting, although perfect from the charity line (4-4).


DePaul junior center Sylvia Blakeslee (44) scored 6 points along with her 7 rebounds. SLU players Christan Shelton (14), Katie Battern (44) nad Bridget Beckmann (52) tried to defend the inside play of their taller opponents.
