SIUC (6-17) lost to Southwest Missouri State University (20-5) before approximately 120 fans in the SIU arena, half of the fans were from SMS and were quite vocal supporters of their Lady Bears. SIUC played well during the first half, building an 8 point advantage with 3 minutes left before the Bears drew closer. The Salukis went into the break with a slim 35-33 lead. The second half was characterized by sloppy ball handling and missed passes. SMS finally took the lead 44-45 at the 13:03 mark and never looked back. SIU was handed a 56-76 defeat.
