SIUC (4-13) lost a heartbreaker to Indiana State University (12-6) before a small SIU arena crowd. SIUC trailed the Sycamores by 12 points at halftime (29-17) and were down by 15 at the 14:21 mark (41-26) in the second half. The Salukis worked to narrow the Sycamore lead to 2 points with 2 minutes remaining in the game (46-44). SIUC was unable to score in the remaining time, letting ISU escape with a narrow 48-44 win.
