University of Georgia at St. Louis University 20 November 2010
Saint Louis University Billikens (1-2) lost 61-59 to the University of Georgia Bulldogs (3-0) at the Chaifetz Arena (reported attendance = 7192). SLU came out running, behind the efforts of junior guard Kyle Cassity and freshman center Rob Loe to build what seemed to be a comfortable 37-27 halftime lead. The second half was not a continuation of first-half play; there was poor ball handling, poor shot choices,, too many turnovers, and lack of offensive production from returning Australian sophomores Christian Salecich and Cody Ellis along with junior forward Brian Conklin. All of this allowed Georgia to inch back into the game, eliminate a 14-point lead, and then capture the victory with a last second basket. The Billikens were led by Loe (19 pts) and Cassity (13 pts). The Bulldogs were led by junior guard Travis Leslie (19 pts, 6 rebounds), senior forward Jeremy Price (16 pts, 7 rebounds), and junior guards Dustin Ware (10 pts) and Gerald Robinson (10 pts, 8 assists). Saint Louis shot 46% from the field (53% [9-17] from 3-pt range) and 63% (10-16) from the charity line. Georgia shot 52% from the field (50% [3-6] from 3-pt range) and 67% (19-27) from the charity line. The Billikens had 23 rebounds (6O, 17D), 13 assists, 9 steals, 5 blocked shots, and 17 turnovers as compared with 30 rebounds (7O, 23D), 12 assists, 10 steals, 5 blocked shots, and 17 turnovers by the Bulldogs.
