Saint Louis University Billikens (3-2) won 58-55 over the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Jaguars (2-4) at the Chaifetz Arena (reported attendance = 5,558). SLU once again built a comfortable lead at the half, 39-28, but committed enough turnovers and demonstrated poor shooting to allow the visitors to make this a closer game. The inexperience showed as freshman center Rob Loe did not score (0-6 FGA; 0-4 3-pointers). The Billikens were led by junior guard Paul Eckerle (12 pts), freshman guard Mike McCall (9 pts, 3 assists), freshman forward Dwayne Evans (8 pts, 6 rebounds), and junior guard Kyle Cassity (8 pts). The Jaguars were led by junior forward Alex Young (17 pts, 6 rebounds), junior guard Stephen Thomas (13 pts, 8 rebounds) junior forward Christian Siakam (10 pts, 7 rebounds), and senior guard Leroy Nobles (9 pts, 4 rebounds). Saint Louis shot 43% from the field (36% [5-14] from 3-pt range) and 68% (15-22) from the charity line. IUPUI shot 35% from the field (0% [0-8] from 3-pt range) and 83% (19-23) from the charity line. The Billikens had 32 rebounds (8O, 24D), 12 assists, 5 steals, 5 blocked shots, and 13 turnovers as compared with 31 rebounds (10O, 21D), 4 assists, 5 steals, 2 blocked shots, and 10 turnovers by the Jaguars.

SLU junior guard Paul Eckerle (10) was hot in the first half from 3-pt range. Eckerle finished with a team-high 12 points to go with 1 rebound, 1 steal, and 2 assists.

Billikens junior guard Kyle Cassity (23) drives on Jaguars junior guard Stephen Thomas (2). Cassity scored 8 points to go with 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 2 turnovers.

Billikens sophomore forward Cory Remekun (32) defends Jaguars freshman center Michael Patton (50). Remekun scored 6 points and collected 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 turnover. Patton finished with 4 points, 1 rebound, 1 blocked shot, and 1 turnover.

IUPUI junior forward Alex Young (5) scores inside against SLU sophomore forward Cody Ellis (24). Young finished with a game-high 17 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 blocked shot, and 1 turnover. Ellis finished with 4 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 turnovers.
 IUPUI junior guard Stephen Thomas (2) drives past SLU junior guard Kyle Cassity (23). Thomas finished with 13 points, 8 rebounds, 1 steal, and 2 turnovers.

Jaguars junior forward Christian Siakam (55) drives on Billikens sophomore forward Cory Remekun (32). Siakam scored 10 points and collected 7 rebounds and 2 steals.
 Jaguars senior guard Leroy Nobles (1) finished the game with 9 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 3 turnovers.
