Saint Louis University Billikens (6-4) survived the second round of the Findlay Toyota Las Vegas Classic with a 73-70 victory over the Liberty University Flames (7-4) at the Chaifetz Arena (reported attendance = none provided). The Billikens won their fourth straight game behind the efforts of senior guards Kevin Lisch (20 pts) and Tommie Liddell, III (15 pts, 11 rebounds). SLU led by 17 points with less than 4 minutes left in the game before Liberty mounted an impressive comeback (their second such effort during the game). In addition to their offense, Lisch held freshman guard Seth Curry to 8 points (12 below his 21 ppg) and Liddell blocked a last second tying shot from Flames senior guard Anthony Smith (21 pts). Curry and junior guard Kyle Ohman (11 pts) were saddled with fouls early in the game. Saint Louis shot 46% from the field (35% from 3-pt range) and 67% (14-21) from the charity line. Liberty shot 44% from the field (17% from 3-pt range) and 88% (22-25) from the charity line. The Billikens had 41 rebounds (14O, 27D), 14 assists, 4 steals, 1 blocked shot, and 14 turnovers as compared with 24 rebounds (3O, 21D), 6 assists, 8 steals, 1 blocked shot, and 10 turnovers by the Flames.

SLU senior guard Kevin Lisch (21) held Liberty freshman guard Seth Curry (30) to 8 points (well below his 22 ppg), 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 turnovers, and 2 steals. Lisch finished with 20 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 turnovers, and 1 steal. Lisch occupies 8th place in SLU scoring history. Billikens freshman forward Brain Conklin (14) scores inside against Flames junior forward Kyle Ohman (11). Conklin finished with 6 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 turnovers. Billikens senior guard Tommie Liddell, III (25) scored 15 points to go with 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 turnovers, 2 steals, and this important last-second blocked shot of Flames senior guard Anthony Smith (5). Smith collected a game-high 21 points to go with 2 rebounds, 2 turnovers, and 2 steals. SLU senior forward Barry Eberhardt (15) collected a double-double with 10 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 turnover.

Liberty junior guard Kyle Ohman (11) scored 11 points to go with 5 rebounds, 1 turnover, 2 steals, and 1 blocked shot. SLU freshman Kwamain Mitchell (3) defended on this play. Mitchell finished with 11 points, 2 assists, 2 turnovers, and 1 steal. Billikens freshman center Willie Reed (33) played good defense while collecting 6 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 turnovers. Flames freshman guard Brolin Floyd (23) tries to score inside against Reed. Floyd scored 5 points to go with 2 rebounds, 2 turnovers, and 2 steals. Liberty freshman guard Johnny Stephens (1) scores against SLU sophomore guard Paul Eckerle (10). Stephens contributed 15 points to go with 2 assists and 2 turnovers. SLU freshman guard Kyle Cassity (23) guards Liberty freshman guard Jesse Sanders (25). Sanders scored 10 points while collecting 5 rebounds and 2 assists.
