SLU Billikens (14-10, 5-5) revenged an earlier (embarrassing and record setting) loss with a 63-38 win over George Washington University Colonials (6-14, 2-8) at the Scottrade Center (8,052 reported attendance). Saint Louis University seniors Bryce Husak (15 pts, 5 rebounds) and Dwayne Polk (12 pts, 3 rebounds, 3 assists) along with junior guard Kevin Lisch (11 pts, 5 rebounds, 6 assists) led the effort. The Colonials were led by junior forward Rob Diggs (14 pts, 6 turnovers). The Billikens shot 40% from the field (52% from 3-pt range) and 78% (7-9) from the charity line. George Washington University shot 27% from the field (19% from 3-pt range) and 78% (7-9) from the charity line. SLU had 35 rebounds (11O, 24D), 19 assists, 7 steals, 3 blocked shots, and 6 turnovers as compared with 38 rebounds (16O, 22D), 6 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocked shots, and 12 turnovers by the Colonials.

Billiken senior center Bryce Husak (44) defends against Colonials junior forward Rob Diggs (5). Husak scored a game-high 15 points to go with 5 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Diggs finished with 14 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 blocked shot, 1 steal, and 6 turnovers. SLU senior guard Dwayne Polk (00) drives on GWU freshman guard Miles Beatty (4). Polk scored 12 points and collected 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 blocked shot, 1 steal, and 1 turnover. Billikens junior guard Kevin Lisch (21) drives against Colonials sophomore guard Johnny Lee (12). Lisch contributed 11 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1 steal. Lee failed to score but collected 5 rebounds and 1 assist.

 

 

SLU junior guard Tommie Liddell, III (25) drives against Colonials forward Wynton Witherspoon (11). Liddell finished with 7 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 2 turnovers. Witherspoon scored 5 points and collected 3 rebounds. Billikens senior guard Danny Brown (1) scored 8 points to go with 3 rebounds and 1 assist. GWU senior guard Maureece Rice (33) was held to 2 points and 3 rebounds. SLU senior forward Luke Meyer (32) scored only 2 points but collected 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.
