Vanderbilt University at St. Louis University 21 December 2003
SLU (6-4) lost 71-56 to visiting Vanderbilt University (9-0) at the Bauman-Eberhardt Center before a very small preholiday crowd (reported exaggerated attendance, 509). The visiting Commodores entertained their traveling fans by the use of a quick inside game to build a 39-24 halftime lead. SLU was never able to get their shooting game on track (senior guard Kirsti Holloway, 1-15; freshman guard Ava Smith, 0-6; sophomore guard Shea Kenny, 0-3) but were able to stay even during the second half. The Billikens and Commodores were fairly even in rebounds (35-35), turnovers (16-17), steals (6-5), and personal fouls (19-17) but Vanderbilt led in the assist column (22-10). SLU was led by senior forward Angie Lewis (22 pts) and freshman guard Tyler Mcllwraith (9 pts). Sophomore center Lakrisha Brown had 9 rebounds for the Billikens. SLU shot 33% from the field (14% from 3-pt range, another weak performance) and 77% from the charity line. The Commodores were led by junior forward Ashley Earley (22 pts, 9 rebounds), senior forward Jenni Benningfield (17 pts, 13 rebounds), and freshman guard Katie Antony (8 pts, 17 assists). VU shot 53% from the field (38% from 3-pt range) and 71% from the charity line.

SLU senior forward Angie Lewis (50) led the team with 14 points (6-9 FG, 2-2 FT), 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal in 29 minutes of play. Lewis scored her 1,000th career point during the game. Senior center Stephanie Solomon (53) scored 7 points and collected 4 rebounds and 1 steal.
