SLU (10-5, 3-1) won their second straight game in a three-game home stand with a 70-52 victory over visiting University of South Florida (6-7, 0-2) at the Savvis Center (reported attendance, 9,601). Although the Billikens appeared to be in early control of the game, they managed a 34-26 halftime lead behind a string of easy three-point baskets. Senior guard Josh Fisher (10 pts) and senior forward Chris Sloan (12 pts) paced the team's first-half effort. The SLU victory was led by Sloan (game-high 18 pts), junior guard Reggie Bryant (17 pts), and Fisher (13 pts, 9 rebounds, 8 assists). The Billikens shot 45% from the field (41% from 3-pt range) and 72% from the charity line. USF was led by junior forward Terrence Leather (12 pts, 8 rebounds) and junior guard Brian Swift (10 pts). The Bulls shot 38% from the field (31% from 3-pt range) and 53% from the charity line. SLU had 32 rebounds (8O, 24D), 18 assists, 7 steals, and 7 turnovers as compared with 35 rebounds (10O, 25D), 6 assists, 2 steals, and 12 turnovers by USF.


SLU senior forward Chris Sloan (33) led all scorers with 18 points.

Billikens junior guard Reggie Bryant (21) contributed 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.
