SLU (0-0) defeated Lewis University (0-0) 72-62 in an exhibition game at the Bauman-Eberhardt Center before a very small audience (no reported attendance). The Billikens led 41-39 at the half characterized by a lack of defense. SLU had 5 players in double figures, led by the three seniors Kirsti Holloway (14 pts), Stephanie Solomon (12 pts) and Angie Lewis (11 pts) and freshman Krystle Hatton and sophomore Lakrisha Brown with 10 pts each. The Billikens won the battle of the boards 45-31, including 21 offensive rebounds. SLU was 2-11 (18%) from 3-point range, shot 46% from the field and 50% from the charity line, and committed 22 turnovers. Lewis Flyers were led by senior forward Bryanne Callahan (14 pts), freshman guard Mary Moskal (13 pts), and junior guard Cassie Stark (11 pts).


SLU senior center Stephanie Solomon (53) scored 12 points (6-11), collected 8 rebounds and 3 steals, and blocked 1 shot.


Billikens senior guard Kirsti Holloway (33) hits for 3 of her team-high 14 points (6-11, 2-5 3-pt). Holloway had 2 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 turnovers. In the foreground is senior forward Angie Lewis (50), who scored 11 points (4-8) and collected 8 rebounds and 2 steals.


Billikens sophomore center Lakrisha Brown (52) scored 10 points (4-8) to go with 9 rebounds. Flyers senoir forward Bryanne Callahan (34) scored 14 points (7-15) and collected 6 rebounds.


SLU freshman forward Krystle Hatton (45) contributed 10 points (5-9), 4 rebounds, and 1 blocked shot. Lewis freshman center Erin Cox (52) scored 7 points, collected 2 rebounds, and committed 4 turnovers.
