University of Texas Pan American at St. Louis University 7 December 2002
SLU (2-3) picked up their second victory of the Soderberg era with a 57-42 win over UT-Pan American (2-6) at Savvis Center before 7,977 fans. The small home crowd appeared even smaller as the Billikens managed to stumble to a 20-14 halftime advantage over a weak UT-PA Broncs team. SLU continued their lack of 3-point shooting with an 0-8 effort and turned the ball over 13 times, 9 of these coming during the first half. Marque Perry and Chris Braun scored a combined 36 points to lead the Billikens. The Broncs were led by senior guard Kevin Mitchell's (1) 26 points. Three UT-PA starters fouled out of the game.

Billikens senior forward Chris Braun (52) and senior guard Marque Perry (5) scored 16 and 20 points, respectively. Braun had 4 rebounds and blocked 3 shots. Perry had 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 4 turnovers.

SLU senior center Kenny Brown (41) and junior forward Chris Sloan (33) each had 7 points. Brown collected 3 rebounds, while Sloan had 8 rebounds.
