SLU (7-9, 1-4) ended a four-game losing streak with their first C-USA win under coach Brad Soderberg, besting the University of Memphis (11-5, 2-3) 69-66 at the Savvis Center (reported attendance, 9,181). The Billikens were led by senior guards Marque Perry (24 points) and Drew Diener (13 points) and held Memphis' leading scorer senior Chris Massie (20 ppg) to 4 points. The Tigers were led by freshman guard Jeremy Hunt (5) with 18 points. SLU held a 28-24 rebound advantage but shot only 20-32 (63%) from the charity line.


SLU senior guard Marque Perry (5) scored 24 points to go with 2 rebounds and 1 assist, and 1 steal. Memphis senior Chris Massie (4) was held to 4 points and 5 rebounds while committing 5 turnovers. Anthony Rice (23) scored 11 points and collected 2 rebounds and 2 assists for the Tigers.


SLU senior guard Josh Fisher (4) scored 8 points to go with 2 rebounds and 4 assists.


Billikens senior forward Chris Sloan (33) was a big presence on the court with 11 points, 7 rebounds, and a dramatic blocked shot late in the second half.
