SLU (3-3) reached the 0.500 mark with their third victory of the Soderberg era, a 63-55 win over the University of Dayton (4-2) at Savvis Center before a small crowd (reported attendance, 8,448). After leading at halftime 31-26, the Billikens allowed the Dayton Flyers back into the contest and lost the lead for a short time. With 4 minutes remaining in the game, the Billikens were able to regain the lead and capture the contest. Dayton dominated the boards with 35 rebounds as compared with 27 by SLU.


Billikens senior guard Marque Perry (5) had a game-high 21 points to go with 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.


SLU senior center Kenny Brown (41) had 8 points, 11 rebounds, and a key blocked shot in the final minutes. Dayton junior forward Keith Waleskowski (45) led the Flyers with 17 points and 12 rebounds.


Billikens junior forward Chris Sloan (33) scored 11 points, 2 rebounds, and had one assist while collecting 4 personal fouls.


SLU senior guard Drew Diener (21) drilled 4 open three-pointers for a total of 12 points. Diener also had 3 rebounds and 2 assists.
