SLU (0-0) played host to the traveling EA Sports Midwest All-Stars, earning themselves an easy 75-58 exhibition game victory at Savvis Center before a small opening season crowd. This was the first game under the direction of new headcoach Brad Soderberg. After leading 30-28 at the half, the Billikens pulled away in the second half. The Billikens hit 46% of their shots and easily outrebounded the All-Stars 45-27.


Billikens senior guard Drew Diener (21) scored a game-high 18 points to go with 4 rebounds and 2 assists.


SLU senior guard Josh Fisher (4) had 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 12 assists.


Billikens junior forward Chris Sloan (33) shot for 14 points and collected 7 rebounds and 2 assists.


SLU junior forward Ross Varner (25) and senior guard Marque Perry (5) combined on this play. Varner scored 7 points, while Perry scored 16 points to go with his 3 rebounds and 3 assists.
