SLU (11-8, 2-2) pulled out a 73-71 overtime upset of #25 (AP poll) DePaul University (14-5, 3-1) at the Bauman-Eberhardt Center before a young vocal crowd (reported attendance, 1,796). The Billikens were led by junior forward Angie Lewis (50) with 23 points. The DePaul Blue Demons were led by sophomore guards Charlene Smith (22) and Jenni Dent (32) with 19 and 14 points, respectively. Although the Billikens trailed 30-25 at the half, they were able to capitalize on good inside play to even the contest 61-61 at the end of regulation time.


Blue Demon sophomore guard Charlene Smith (22) scored 19 points and collected 4 rebounds.


DePaul sophomore guard Jenni Dent (32) scored 14 points to go with 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals.


Billikens senior guard Star Jackson (25) scored 11 points, collected 4 rebounds, and had 6 assists.


SLU senior guard Harmonie King (22) scored 10 points, but had 3 turnovers.


Billikens junior forward Angie Lewis (50) led all scorers with 23 points, 6 in the overtime period. Lewis also collected 9 rebounds and 2 steals.
