Saint Louis University (9-11, 3-4) dropped their second straight game, a 55-38 loss to Marquette University (17-3, 6-1) in the Savvis Center (reported attendance, 11,837). In probably their least effective performance of the season, the Billikens found themselves trailing 12-0 until Marque Perry returned to the lineup to score SLU's first 4 points. Poor shooting overall (29% for the game) led to a 33-18 halftime deficit. The Billikens were also beaten under the boards 39-27. The Golden Eagles were led by Cordell Henry who combined for 30 points.


SLU junior guard Marque Perry (5) returned to the lineup to score the Billikens' first 4 points. Perry finished with 6 points, 1 rebound, and 4 assists.


Billikens junior guard Josh Fisher (4) scored a team-high 9 points along with collecting 3 rebounds and 3 assists.


A feature of the game was a second-half matchup between cousins, Marquette freshman guard Travis Diener (10), who had 2 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists and SLU junior guard Drew Diener (21), who contributed 8 points and 3 rebounds.


Marquette senior guard Cordell Henry (4) led all scorers with 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.


Golden Eagle sophomore guard Dwayne Wade (3) scored 13 points. Wade also collected 4 rebounds and 5 steals.
