Georgia Tech University at St. Louis University 16 February 2002
Saint Louis University (11-15, 5-7) crashed and burned against visiting ACC Georgia Tech (11-15, 3-9) with a 60-40 loss in the Savvis Center (reported attendance, 10,376). SLU's scoring was well off their season average, resulting in a Georgia Tech 25-13 halftime lead. SLU's lackluster performance was led by Jason Edwin's 14 points. Marque Perry accounted for a game-high 9 turnovers. Georgia Tech was led by Tony Akins with 21 points. SLU shot 31% from the field compared with 39% for Georgia Tech.

The Billikens were led by sophomore guard Jason Edwin (44) with 14 points and 6 rebounds.

Georgia Tech pulled away in the second half with easy buckets such as this one by senior guard Tony Akins (3), who had a game-high 21 points to go along with 3 rebounds and 5 assists.

As described in Saturday's Post-Dispatch, this was the Billikens "first-ever regular season game on network television (ABC)." With a performance like this, who needs exposure?

Attendance throughout the season has waned. Does today's report of 10,000+ fans seem somewhat inflated?
