SLU (11-10, 4-4) overwhelmed East Carolina University (3-17, 1-7) 88-68 in the Bauman-Eberhardt Center (358 reported attendance). After trailing early in the game, the Billikens changed to an active 3/4 court press that resulted in a 10-point lead and a 40-34 first-half advantage. SLU was led by Angie Lewis, who scored a career-high 24 points, leading to their 20-point victory. The Pirates were led by sophomore forward Courtney Willis (24) with 30 points and 9 rebounds and freshman forward Shanita Sutton (42) with 12 points and 4 rebounds.


Sophomore forward Angie Lewis (50) watches 2 of her career-high 24 points find the basket. Lewis also collected 7 rebounds and one assist.


Billikens junior guard Christan Shelton (14) returned to form with 14 points and 3 rebounds.


SLU sophomore guard Jana Haywood (24) contributed 8 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals towards the Billikens victory.
