Saint Louis University (9-9, 3-2) remained in fourth place in the American Division of C-USA with an easy 85-72 victory over East Carolina University (7-10, 1-4) in the Savvis Center (inflated reported attendance, 11,646). With an injured Marque Perry sitting out another game, SLU coasted to a 41-28 halftime lead behind Drew Diener's 16 points. Diener finished with 21 points to lead all scorers. ECU was led by sophomore forward Erroyl Bing (33) with 16 points and 10 rebounds. The Pirates muscled the Billikens under the boards with a 45-29 advantage, including 20 offensive boards.


Junior guard Drew Diener (21) picked up his game with Marque Perry out due to injury. Diener led the Billikens with a game- and career-high 21 points to go with 3 rebounds and 3 assists.


SLU sophomore guard Jason Edwin (44) continued his C-USA scoring streak by contributing 16 points to go with 2 rebounds and 2 assists.


Biilkens junior center Kenny Brown (41) scored 13 points and collected 6 rebounds.

Freshman guard Randy Pulley (1) scored 6 points, collected 2 rebounds, and assisted on 7 plays for the Billikens. SLU freshman forward John Seyfert (21) saw some action and scored 1 point and collected 3 rebounds.
