SLU (14-10, 5-8) dropped the first game of their final home stand to the University of Louisville (18-7, 13-1) before a large crowd in the Bauman-Eberhardt Athletic Center (1012 reported attendance). The Billikens trailed by only 5 points at the half, 32-27, but committed 22 turnovers, which gave the Cardinals easy baskets and a final 61-44 victory.


Louisville junior center Shamika Ingram (55) scored 14 points and collected 7 rebounds, this basket over Billiken freshman center Stephanie Solomon (53).


Cardinals junior guard Marju Sober (5) led all scorers with 17 points and collected 6 rebounds.

Sophomore guard Christan Shelton (14) led the team with 12 points and collected 5 rebounds.

Billiken freshman forward Angie Lewis (50) tries to stop Louisville's junior guard Kara Kessans (24). Kessans scored 11 points.

Billiken senior forward April McKinney (42) scored 3 points and collected a game-high 10 rebounds. Looking on is Cardinals freshman guard Sara Nord (14), who led Louisville with 10 assists to go along with her 7 points and 6 rebounds.

SLU sophomore guard Harmonie King (22) scored 8 points and collected 3 assists.
