SIUC (5-18, 2-12) have now lost 11 of 12 games, falling short against visiting Drake University (17-4, 12-1) before a sparse crowd (209 reported attendance) in the SIU arena. The Salukis led by one at the half 26-25, but were unable to take advantage of their visitors, losing by the final score of 66-68.


SIU was led by senior center Kristine Abramowski (55), scoring a career-high 21 points to go with 8 rebounds.


SIU senior guard Terica Hathaway (22) scored 15 points and collected 9 rebounds.

Saluki sophomore guard Molly McDowell (11) scored 10 points but led the team with 11 assists. Bulldog junior guard Stephanie Schmitz (20) countered with 11 points, 8 assists and 9 rebounds.

Drake senior guard Kristin Santa (11) scored many unchallenged baskets on her way to 18 points.

Bulldog junior forward Erin Richards (34) scores 2 of her 10 points over Saluki freshman Jennifer Wegley (50). Richards also added 7 rebounds and 3 assists.

Sophomore center Karla Bennett (54) scored 14 points and collected 7 rebounds for Drake. SIU freshman forward Tiffany Crutcher (32) scored 12 points and collected 7 rebounds.
